Annabelle Rama apologizes to Dolphy's family

MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) - Controversial talent manager Annabelle Rama has apologized to the Quizon family for the commotion that happened during the wake of comedy king Dolphy.
In her Twitter account, Rama addressed her apology to Dolphy's longtime partner, singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla and the comedian's family.
“To Zsa Zsa and the Quizon family, I am so sorry for what had happened at the dining area of the Heritage," Rama said.
She also thanked one of Dolphy's sons, actor-director Eric Quizon, for accepting her apology.
"Maraming, maraming salamat kay Eric na tinanggap 'yung apology ko. Maraming salamat sa Quizon family, kay Zsa Zsa. Zsa Zsa, I'm so sorry, hindi 'to pinaplano, hindi 'to sinasadya," Rama said.
Provoked?
Rama added that the incident erupted after she was "provoked" by entertainment reporter Chito Alcid.
"I was provoked by a fake reporter," she alleged.
Rama claimed that she was followed to the supposed VIP area by Fuentes' group. Taking notice of this, the talent manager said she already knew the former actress had planned on instigating a fight.
"Talagang planado nila, planado talaga ako ni Amalia na iskandaluhin ako para matakpan ang kanyang mga payong issue, I'm sure. Bakit kami nasundan doon sa pinakalikod na kainan na napakalayo doon sa burol? Talagang hinahanap nila ako," Rama said.
In an interview with dzMM on Saturday, Rama clarified that the incident did not happen in the chapel where Dolphy’s casket lies.
“Hindi nangyari ito sa burol ni pareng Dolphy. Nangyari ito sa likod—dining—sa likod ng burol. Kaya malayo ako doon sa wake,” she explained.
Rama believes the incident was planned by her foes, former actresses Amalia Fuentes and Daisy Romualdez, to make her look bad in the eyes of the public.
'Attack dog'
“Hindi ako ang nag-umpisa ng gulo at hindi ako nangaaway ng reporter kasi for me, hindi naman reporter ‘yun eh kasi hindi ko naman siya kilala talaga. Ano siya, pakawala siya nila Amalia saka ni Daisy. Kasama ni Amalia ‘yun,” Rama said in the dzMM interview.
“Kung tawagin ‘yan, dong, ‘dog attack’, ‘yun ang pang-attack ni Amalia”.
Rama said she got a text message warning her that the group would be at the wake.
“May nag-text sa akin. Mag-ingat daw ako darating daw si Amalia kasama 'yung taga-attack sa akin, si Chito nga. Ako naman, nagpunta ako sa burol para magdasal. Hindi ko inaasahang pupunta sila,” she said.
The incident, she said, happened while she was waiting for her turn to use the comfort room.
“Sinundan nya ako sa C.R e. Ang unang pumunta si Daisy. Nakita nya ako, naghihintay kasi nakapila, umatras si Daisy di na siya tumuloy. Tapos kitang-kita ko pag upo ni Daisy sa upuan niya sa lamesa, tumayo ang Chito, tumuloy sa akin, nakita ko bunganga niya parang he said something like P*** sa akin. Kaya ko siya hinampas. Unang-una bakit siya pumunta ng CR e nandoon ako sa CR. Tapos sasabihin sa akin P*** ako. Sino ba ang hindi magagalit sa ganun?” she said.
A video footage showed Rama charging towards Alcid with a walking stick. German Moreno was seen trying to pacify her.
“Hinampas ko talaga siya. Unang-una Kleenex doon sa may CR. Tapos tumakbo siya ngayon sabi niya ‘Hayop ka!’ Sabi niya sa akin,” she said.
“Tapos marami siyang sinasabi lalo ko siyang sinugod. Nakakita ako ng baston, hindi ko alam kung sino may ari nu’n, talagang hinawakan ko. Sinusugod ko talaga siya kasi kabastusan ‘yun. Walang respeto,” she said.
Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson was one of those who helped stopped the two.
"Biglang nagkagulo, naghabulan. Inawat ko na lang baka magkasakitan," Singson said.
He said Rama was able to get hold of a walking stick and tried to hit Alcid with it.
"May nahagilap na baston. Pinakiusapan ko na lang sina Eddie na umuwi na lang dahil nakakahiya, burol ‘yun. Nakinig naman so umalis na," Singson said.
Prior to her apology, Rama, known for her sharp tongue, ranted about the incident in her Twitter account.
"Nakita ko ‘yung b****** duwag, fake na reporter sa dining. Sinundan niya ako sa CR at hinarap niya ako, akala ng g*** na ‘yan na natatakot ako sa kanya," she said.
She also explained why she went after the reporter.
"Kaya ko siya hinampas ang yabang kase dahil marami siyang kasama. Duwag matapang ka lang sa facebook at twitter."
She maintained that she didn’t plan to create a scene at Dolphy’s wake.
“Wala akong planong mang-gulo. Wala akong planong mang iskandalo. Ako’y nagpunta para magdasal,” she said.
Rama, however, said she doesn’t care even if Alcid files several cases against her.
“Magsampa ka ng kaso, Chito, maski pa 10 kaso. Hindi ako natatakot sa inyo,” she said. -- With a report from dzMM
