Amid heavy rain in Metro Manila Wednesday, President Benigno Aquino III
and his sisters marked the third death anniversary of their mother, the
late President Corazon Aquino, with a Mass at the Manila Memorial Park
in Parañaque City.The Aquino siblings and some friends attended the gathering at the tomb of the former president. Fr. Catalino Arevalo presided over the Mass being offered there, radio dzBB reported.
Some friends were also present, including secretaries Manuel Roxas II (transportation), Albert del Rosario (foreign affairs), and Corazon Soliman (social welfare).
US Ambassador to the Philippines Harry Thomas Jr. also attended the gathering, the report said.
Mrs. Aquino died on Aug. 1, 2009 after a battle with colon cancer.
Her death triggered an outpouring of sympathy and prompted her son, then Senator Aquino, to run in the 2010 presidential race
