MANILA, Philippines – Journalist Mon Tulfo admitted his first instinct when actor Raymart Santiago hit him during the brawl that happened last Sunday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was really to get his gun.
Tulfo said he decided to just stand his ground and duke it out with Santiago and his friends than for people to think he’s a coward.
I stood my ground. Nagkamali ako dahil ang dami nila,” he said.
Tulfo insisted he never intended to shove or kick Santiago’s wife, actress Claudine Barretto.
“No, no [hindi ko tinulak si Claudine].
Tulfo also appealed to the person who recorded the video of the brawl to come out so he can personally thank him.
Lugmok na ako sa public opinion,” he said.
Kukunin ko ang baril ko and that would have been very nasty,” Tulfo told Boy Abunda in an exclusive interview with “The Buzz” aired on Sunday.
Tulfo said though it was unfortunate that his gun was still at the counter.
Maraming masasawi,” he added.
