Dolphy's remains to be brought to ABS-CBN

MANILA, Philippines - Dolphy's remains will be brought to ABS-CBN in Quezon City to allow his close friends and colleagues in the entertainment and media industry to pay their last respects to the late king of Philippine comedy, Vice President Jejomar Binay said early Wednesday.
Binay told radio dzMM that the schedule for the transfer of Dolphy's remains, as well as his internment, will be determined at a later time.
Binay is a godfather of Dolphy's son, Vandolph.
The late comedian's body is currently at the Heritage Park in Taguig.
Dolphy made his big breakthrough on Philippine TV in 1963 when he and fellow comedian Panchito were cast on the ABS-CBN show “Buhay Artista,” which was conceptualized by ABS-CBN patriarch Eugenio Lopez Jr. and renowned TV director Ading Fernando.
He later became a household name on multi-awarded sitcom “John en Marsha," before returning to ABS-CBN in 1991 wherein he made a major comeback with sitcom “Home Along Da Riles.”
ABS-CBN, in a statement Tuesday night, said Dolphy "remains the symbol of every Juan de la Cruz who loves his children and can make light of life's trials."
The Philippines' largest multimedia conglomerate said the comedian became a close friend of ABS-CBN chairman emeritus Eugenio Lopez Jr.
"He would later on become a Kapamilya for more than 40 years," ABS-CBN said.
"Today, everyone at ABS-CBN joins his family and the whole nation in remembering his great life and career. Most of his works were huge box office successes, many were award-winning and all are now immortal in the hearts of Filipinos," the network added.
"We will miss 'Tito Dolphy,' an idol, a friend, and already a legend even while he lived," the ABS-CBN statement said.
